This impressive yet elegant wine has focussed plum and black fruit backed by firm tannins and classy but balanced oak. Powerful, yet restrained - an excellent example of top flight Douro.
Very good with saddle of roast pork, roast lamb or game birds.
Deep coloured and still young on the rim, the 2007 Azamor is powerful and aromatic, with perfumes of plums, chocolate and a touch of very ripe blackcurrants. On the palate the wine is robust and chunky, with tremendous structure, packed with ripe, rich fruit and a lovely spicy sheen from the French and American oak ageing. Long and fruity right through to the finish.
Good depth of colour, with attractive aromas of dark fruit on the nose. On the palate, the wine is rich and full-bodied with plenty of ripe dark fruit characters which are in excellent balance with the soft, rounded tannins.
Juicy with lots of bramble fruits and polished aromatics . Underlying savoury and herbal character with silky, supple black fruit. Soft tannins with hints of pine and vanilla on the elegant finish.
