This entry level Loosen Estate Riesling embodies the elegant and racy characteristics of steep, slate soil Mosel vineyards at a very reasonable price.
Excellent as an aperitif.
Pale straw, clear and bright. The nose shows a range of intense youthful aromas of lemon, and orange blossom. The palate is impeccably clean, dry with refreshing acidity. Upfront flavours of pink grapefruit, sherbet and delightful floral notes. Finishes wonderfully fresh with excellent length.
Stony slate soil and numerous rocky outcroppings also hold the heat of the day and ensure full ripeness. Thin topsoil forces the vines to dig deep for nutrients producing intensely minerally and vibrant wines. The Bernkasteler Lay vineyard is situated around the estate house and directly along the Mosel just outside the village of Bernkastel, the Lay vineyard has somewhat gentler slope and richer slate soil than the estate's other vineyards. It producees a dense, creamy-textured Kabinett.
Aromas reminiscent of ripe apple , tangerine , lime, white pepper, nutmeg, mace and flint stone. Light, vibrant, fresh and juicy with refreshing acidity and a complex, mineral and lasting finish.
