Rich and full bodied Riesling at its best with comparatively little residual sugar so not overly sweet. Juicy and fresh expression of peaches and dried apricots, great ageing potential.
Excellent with pâté, foie gras, spicy food, salads, spicy seafood.
Wehlener Sonnenuhr is a precipitously steep and rocky vineyard which yields some of the most elegant and sophisticated white wines in the world. It has very thin soil and the purest blue slate of any Mosel vineyard. This gives a lively minerality to the wine, along with a delicate and crisp acidity that perfectly balances the bright white peach and lemon fruit. Its an aristocratic and charming wine that dances gracefully on the palate.
This is driven by yellow peach, pineapple cake, orange peel and marzipan on the nose and offers a most stunning balance on the palate, with great aromatic integration and purity. The wine leaves a direct and firm sensation of richness and spice in the finish with a soft acidic backbone.
Piercing minerality and crisp acidity on the nose, pronounced peach, herbal and bees wax aromas. A whiff of petrol lurking from behind. It is off-dry on the palate, perfectly balanced by its crisp acidity. A pronounced intensity of peach fruit introduces an incredibly long impression on the palate, which gradually becomes more herbal, turning slowly into spiced pear and finally ending in a distinctly mineral taste.
