Made by the Duboscq family who own Ch Haut Marbuzet. Claret has suffered in recent years from over-production of wines which are not very fashionable on todays' world market. Too often we see dry, dusty young Claret lacking fruit and character. Duboscq Claret is the polar opposite of this. Young, yes but full of fruit and vitality - the very essence of what good, everyday drinking Claret should be.
Try with corn-fed chicken terrine.
Elegant and stylish Bordeaux from one of the greatest of recent vintages. Supple and full of fruit with a long, persistent finish.
The ripeness is evident in the wine, which has good colour, a classic plummy nose and ripe, supple fruit on the palate.
A warming, very classy Claret nose leads on to a ripe, rounded, lush flavoursome Merlot palate. Smooth flavours linger in the mouth in the surprisingly long finish for a wine at this price.
