This wine has a bright, stony fruit aroma that is drenched in peaches and apricots. It is medium weight but the apricot richness has a massive impact and a palate coating texture. The fruit has good persistence and leads to a long, drying finish. There is also a stony purity that's characteristic of Riesling from the Pfalz and it carries through on the palate. Excellent richness and solid structure make this full and surprisingly powerful. It has good length, with a crisp dry finish.
Perfect with or without food.

This is the most powerful of all the second growths. Belz Riesling has a Loire like structure and flinty flavour profile from the unusual chalky soil that is only found in this vineyard.
Pechstein lies on the gentle east facing slope that extends from behind hte village of Forst up toward the Haardt Mountains. The name refers to the preponderance of black balsalt sontes in the soil, which give the wines a strong mineral backbone. The wine presents itself with wonderful mineral aromas, intense fruit, high density, light notes of ripe fruit and a long finish.
