Dense dark red with purple highlights. An intense nose of dark fruits - ripe plums and blackberries complemented by hints of spice and liquorice. Rich black fruit flavours of plum, blackberry and currant are underpinned with savoury oak. Fine, soft tannins and lovely balance promote a mouth filling texture and lingering finish.
Superb with roast lamb.
Aromas of white and black pepper, violets and plums together with subtle hints of spicy chocolate. On the palate, it has plummy cinnamon flavours, with a slight smoky note. Good structure, with silky, ripe tannins and a warm, ripe finish.
Very good varietal expression with plum, mulberry and blackberry fruit on the nose. Quite deep and brooding with lush blackcurrant laced with dried herbs and spicy vanilla derived from its time in oak. The tannins are persistent but very fine.
Good depth of bright ruby colour, it has perfumes of black cherries and red currants on the nose, with hints of smoke and a little oak. On the palate, the juicy, cherryish fruit is to the fore, with ripe, soft tannins and a clean, succulent finish.
