Soft, rich and fruity wine from the South West corner of France with aromas of cherry, cassis, forest fruits and a hint of spice.
Perfect with stews and robust meat dishes.
Syrah and Viognier co-fermented and aged in barrel. 'Serica' means 'silk' - and this wine shows lush, rich berry fruit, superb concentration, smokey Syrah character lifted with a lick of creamy oak on the finish. In the 14th Century, production of silk, or sericulture, was as widespread as viticulture in southern France.
Cherry red in colour; fresh, perfumed aromas of ripe plum and berry fruits of Merlot, with cherry and red fruit of Grenache on the nose. The palate is round, with medium to full body and integrated supple tannins; it is juicy, easy to drink, with a touch of spice to the long, fruit-driven finish.
An intense nose offers a whiff of caramel and coffee while the palette combines rich blackberry fruit, a twist of spice and dark chocolate. Depth, balance and structure carry through to the finish.
