Welcome to Rannoch Scott Wines.

After 30 years in the wine trade - spending a decade with a well-known high street retailer famous for its colourful window displays, followed by four years at a highly respected independent merchant in Hertfordshire - I decided it was time to take the plunge and do things my way.

In 2007, Rannoch Scott Wines was born. We started out in a converted, well-insulated barn in rural Suffolk, far away from the hustle and bustle of the high street. Thanks to the support of our wholesale, online, and private customers, the business quickly thrived. We eventually outgrew our beloved barn and relocated to our current premises in Earls Colne, Essex and then finally into an outbuilding at the family home, where we continue to offer the exact same great prices and personal service.

A No-Nonsense Approach to Sourcing Many of my competitors claim to travel the globe in search of small parcels of interesting wines, which sounds incredibly romantic - until you realize the customer ends up paying for those international flights.

I take a more practical, honest approach. I source our range through trusted UK-based agencies that represent brilliant producers of all sizes from around the world. By doing the hard work and tasting these wines at trade events in London, I skip the global travel costs and pass those savings directly on to you.

Low Overheads, Better Value My goal has always been to offer the best wines at the best possible prices. To make that happen, I keep overheads to an absolute minimum by doing everything myself. From tasting and selecting the wines, to driving the delivery van, doing the accounts, and acting as the resident tea boy - I run the show from top to bottom.

This lean approach allows me to negotiate the best deals with my suppliers. But above all else, my golden rule remains the same today as it was in 2007: I only stock wines that I would be happy to drink myself.
