Chardonnay
Chardonnay is one of the world’s most widely planted and versatile white grape varieties, capable of producing wines ranging from crisp and mineral to rich and full-bodied. Originally from Burgundy in France, it is now grown in virtually every major wine region.
Typical flavours include green apple, citrus and pear, while warmer climates can bring tropical fruit and stone-fruit character. Oak ageing may add notes of vanilla, toast and butter, while its natural acidity provides freshness and balance. Chardonnay is wonderfully food-friendly, pairing well with seafood, poultry, creamy dishes and a wide range of cheeses.
