Le Fou Pinot Noir 2025 Description

On the nose, this wine reveals layers of dark fruit complexity - black cherry compote mingles with hints of plum and subtle earthiness. There's a warmth to the aromatics that speaks to its riper fruit profile, with whispers of spice and dried herbs adding intrigue.

The palate delivers impressive structure and balance. Initial impressions of ripe black cherry and plum give way to a savoury mid-palate, where well-integrated tannins provide grip without harshness. The tannin profile is notably refined - ripe and silky rather than austere - creating a pleasant textural experience. A subtle mineral note emerges mid-sip, adding complexity and length.

The finish is clean and persistent, with the savoury character lingering pleasantly. Acidity is well-judged, keeping the wine fresh and food-friendly despite its fuller body. This is a Pinot Noir with more weight and richness than typical Burgundian examples, yet it retains the varietal's elegance and finesse.

Approachable now, but will develop further over the next 3–5 years.

Best enjoyed with roasted meats, game, or rich mushroom dishes.
