Montresor Urban Park Appassimento 2019 Description

On the nose, this wine reveals layers of dark cherry and blackberry, complemented by subtle spice notes and a hint of dried fruit complexity. The bouquet opens further with aeration, revealing undertones of cocoa and tobacco leaf.

The palate is beautifully balanced, showcasing the signature fresh cherry and ripe bramble fruit characteristic of Valpolicella, enriched by the concentrated fruit intensity that Appassimento winemaking brings. Mid-palate weight builds gracefully, with supple, well-integrated tannins that provide structure without harshness. Flavours of morello cherry and dark plum persist through the mid-palate, with subtle hints of leather and dried herbs emerging.

The finish is elegant and lingering, marked by delicate sweetness that's perfectly counterbalanced by bright acidity. This interplay creates a refreshing conclusion that invites another sip. The wine's complexity unfolds over several minutes, revealing additional nuances of spice and subtle oak influence.

It will continue to develop in bottle for 5-7 years, though it's approachable and rewarding now.

Best enjoyed at 16-18°C, this wine pairs beautifully with Italian cuisine, game dishes, and aged cheeses.
