Percheron Shiraz Mourvèdre 2024 - 6 x 750ml Bottles Description
On the nose, this wine reveals layers of dark cherry and plum with hints of white pepper and liquorice. There's a subtle earthiness that suggests time spent in quality oak, complemented by notes of leather and dried herbs.
The palate is full-bodied and richly textured, with ripe dark fruit flavours dominating - blackberry and black currant with underlying spice. Tannins are well-structured and grippy, providing excellent structure without overwhelming the fruit. Mid-palate shows complexity with savoury undertones of olive and game, finishing with lingering pepper and a hint of cocoa.
Best enjoyed slightly below room temperature. This is a wine that rewards patience and will continue to develop in the bottle over the coming years.
A great partner to rich and savoury red meat dishes such as salt-marsh lamb, or a gutsy bean casserole.
