Salta
Salta is one of Argentina’s most distinctive wine regions, renowned for its spectacular high-altitude vineyards and intensely flavoured wines. Located in the northwest of the country, its vineyards are among the highest in the world, with dry conditions, abundant sunshine, cool nights and dramatic temperature variations creating ideal conditions for slow, concentrated grape ripening.
Torrontés is Salta’s signature variety, producing aromatic, fresh and expressive white wines, while Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon are increasingly recognised for their depth, structure and character. The region’s principal wine-growing areas include Cafayate, Molinos and Cachi. Salta’s combination of extreme altitude, distinctive terroir and traditional winemaking has given its wines a strong and growing international reputation.
