Aragón

Aragón, in north-eastern Spain, is a historic wine-producing region known for its dry continental climate, high-altitude vineyards and rugged, varied landscapes. Hot summers, cold winters and low rainfall create challenging conditions that can produce grapes with impressive concentration, freshness and structure.

Garnacha is Aragón’s signature variety, producing richly flavoured reds and increasingly elegant, modern expressions. The region’s principal appellations include Campo de Borja, Cariñena, Calatayud and Somontano, with each offering distinctive interpretations of local terroir. Producers are combining traditional grape varieties and winemaking heritage with modern techniques, improved vineyard management and sustainable practices, helping Aragón gain increasing recognition for quality, value and regional character.
