Bío Bío Valley

The Bío Bío Valley is one of Chile’s southernmost and coolest wine regions, located in the country’s southern Central Valley. Its cool, wet climate, long growing season and significant maritime influence create ideal conditions for producing fresh, aromatic wines with vibrant acidity and distinctive character.

The region is particularly noted for crisp Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling and Gewürztraminer, while Pinot Noir and other cool-climate varieties are also gaining recognition. Bío Bío’s vineyards are often relatively small and traditionally farmed, with increasing interest in sustainable and low-intervention approaches. As Chile’s wine industry continues to explore cooler southern terroirs, Bío Bío is emerging as an important source of elegant, distinctive and naturally fresh wines.
