Cachapoal Valley

The Cachapoal Valley is one of Chile’s important Central Valley wine regions, known particularly for its expressive red wines. Situated between the Andes and the Coastal Range, the valley benefits from a warm Mediterranean climate, dry summers, abundant sunshine and significant temperature differences between day and night.

Cabernet Sauvignon is a leading variety, alongside Carménère, Merlot and Syrah, producing wines that combine ripe fruit, structure and freshness. The Alto Cachapoal area, with its higher-elevation vineyards and cooling Andean influence, is especially well regarded for premium wines. Combining Chile’s established winemaking traditions with modern vineyard management and increasing attention to sustainability, Cachapoal continues to produce distinctive wines with strong regional character and international appeal.
