Central Valley

Chile’s Central Valley is the country’s principal wine-producing area and the foundation of its internationally successful wine industry. Stretching across a broad area between the Andes and the Coastal Range, it benefits from a Mediterranean climate, dry summers, abundant sunshine and cooling influences from the mountains and Pacific Ocean.

The region produces a wide range of wines, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carménère, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay among its leading varieties. Important sub-regions include Maipo, Rapel, Curicó and Maule, each offering distinctive growing conditions and wine styles. Combining established winemaking expertise with modern technology and increasing emphasis on sustainable viticulture, the Central Valley is renowned for producing high-quality wines that offer both consistency and excellent value.
