Mosel-Saar-Ruwer

The Mosel is one of Germany’s most distinctive and celebrated wine regions, renowned particularly for elegant, aromatic Riesling. Vineyards follow the winding Mosel River and its tributaries, with many planted on steep, south-facing slopes where slate-rich soils, cool conditions and excellent sun exposure create ideal conditions for producing fresh, finely balanced wines.

Riesling dominates the region, ranging from crisp, dry wines to intensely concentrated late-harvest styles, while Müller-Thurgau and Pinot varieties also have a presence. The steep terrain makes vineyard cultivation demanding and often highly labour-intensive, but contributes to the distinctive character of Mosel wines. With a long tradition of craftsmanship, the region continues to combine heritage with modern, sustainable approaches to viticulture and winemaking.
