Nahe

The Nahe is one of Germany’s most diverse and intriguing wine regions, following the Nahe River through the rolling hills of Rhineland-Palatinate. Its unusually varied geology - including volcanic, slate, sandstone and limestone soils - creates a remarkable range of microclimates and vineyard expressions within a relatively small area.

Riesling is the region’s leading variety, producing wines known for their elegance, mineral character, vibrant acidity and ageing potential. Müller-Thurgau, Pinot varieties and other grapes also play an important role. Quality-focused producers are increasingly highlighting individual vineyard sites and adopting organic and sustainable farming practices, helping the Nahe build a strong reputation for distinctive, refined wines with a clear sense of terroir.
