Vinho Verde

Vinho Verde is one of Portugal’s most distinctive wine regions, located in the cool, green landscapes of the country’s north-west, close to the Atlantic coast. Its maritime climate, abundant rainfall, granite-rich soils and moderate temperatures create ideal conditions for producing fresh, vibrant wines with naturally high acidity.

The region is particularly known for crisp, aromatic white wines made from indigenous varieties such as Alvarinho, Loureiro, Arinto and Trajadura. Vinho Verde also produces rosé, red and sparkling wines, while Alvarinho from the sub-region of Monção e Melgaço is especially renowned for its concentration and ageing potential. Combining traditional viticulture with modern winemaking and increasing attention to sustainability, Vinho Verde continues to enjoy strong international recognition for its freshness, character and excellent value.
