Château Milon Cuvée Caprice 2022 Description

A captivating bouquet of cigar box, ripe spiced fruit, and subtle oak complexity on the nose. On the palate, this full-bodied Saint-Émilion displays a harmonious balance of plush red fruits with elegant notes of leather and cedar. The wine's well-structured framework is supported by fine-grained tannins that develop gracefully across the mid-palate, leading to a long, refined finish.

The tasting experience unfolds with layers of dark cherry and blackcurrant, complemented by hints of graphite and dried herbs that emerge as the wine opens. Subtle undertones of vanilla and toasted hazelnut from careful oak aging add depth without overwhelming the fruit-forward character. The mid-palate reveals a silky texture with integrated tannins that provide structure and grip, while maintaining an elegant restraint typical of premium Bordeaux blends.

The finish lingers with persistent notes of ripe plum, cocoa, and a whisper of spice that gradually fades into a mineral aftertaste.

The tannin profile suggests excellent ageing potential, while the current drinking window showcases the wine's maturity and sophistication.

Works with a range of dishes, from classic robust beef, game and lamb roasts or stews right through to well aged farmhouse Cheddar.
