Pierre Chainier Touraine Sauvignon Blanc 2025 Description

A vibrant expression of Loire Valley terroir, this Sauvignon Blanc opens with an inviting aromatic profile - gooseberry, white flowers, and citrus leap from the glass.

The palate is remarkably layered: initial tropical notes of passion fruit and white peach give way to herbaceous character with freshly mown grass and nettle leaf. Mid-palate weight and creamy texture belie the wine's crisp nature, while mineral notes of flint and chalk add sophistication. Citrus brightness - grapefruit, lime, and lemon zest - weaves throughout, complemented by subtle stone fruit warmth and intriguing herbal undertones of basil and fennel. The acidity is beautifully integrated, providing elegant structure without harshness.

A characteristically grippy finish, mineral-driven with saline notes reflecting the terroir, leaves a refreshing, lingering impression. This is a wine of remarkable depth and complexity that rewards contemplation, revealing new nuances with each sip.

A great, refreshing aperitif wine that can also be enjoyed with all kinds of smoked or grilled fish, classically good with a fresh goats cheese and happily works with the "difficult-to-pair" asaparagus.
